Yesterday we took Eliot out on her first excursion outside the house, and she did great. Just like at home, she didn't cry once, and she held off on pooping until the last store we visited. Bethany was going stir crazy in the house, so the three of us went for a quick trip around Lake Harriet and we stopped at Bebe Babble, a newish boutique for kids at 44th and France (no website yet). We forgot the store closes midday for an hour, and that happened to be the time we got there, so we went next door to Caribou for terrible drinks (typical Caribou) and to figure out what to do for an hour. We decided we'd go back to Linden Hills and check out the most incredible nightlight ever, the lantern comes off and is just enough light to change the kid in the middle of the night without having to blind both of us with the nursery lights. I got to try it once last night, and she pooped about a can of soup's worth all over my arm. I should have seen it coming when she farted for ten seconds just prior.
