yeah, that's the important distiction. Although, looking over this arrangement, I think it will benifit the poor in the poorer countries. The only ones who could really get screwed by it are the middle class in the rich countries, and honestly, they need to stop whinning.
oh, no, one less ivory backscratcher for me.... sob sob.

there's nothing in cafta that benefits the poor in any nation. the republicans who voted for it did so because of the special interests that will benefit. the republicans who don't vote (the talk radio and the mass media) are in favor of it because they think it will end immigration (think they're racist much?)
it doesn't have any of the minor protections for the people in those countries like nafta had. so nafta is better for the poor people in mexico than cafta is for the poor in those 4 countries, and, to use the pro-cafta argument, did nafta end mexican immigration?
the middle class in the us isn't getting screwed, the working class it. management jobs don't usually get outsourced like labor does. and i don't believe the middle class should stop whining and sit back and watch the upper class gain more wealth at the expense of the labor class.
do you have an ivory backscratcher already? borders must be doing very well.
