Still slowly nodding
I just ordered a pizza from Luce, a great pizza shop that apparantly doesn't take checks on deliveries anymore, so I ran to the Pump 'n Munch [yeah, yeah, at least it's a better name than Kum & Go (OMG there's a Kum & Go website!)] across the street for cash. I have to say, it was a bit awkward. See, I used to buy my cigarettes there every other day, and I haven't been in there since I quit smoking in November. I had to wait in line for the ATM.
Pump 'n Munch guy: [slowly nodding] So... you got a beard for the winter, eh?
Me: [also slowly nodding] Yup.
PnM guy: [still slowly nodding] Nice.
Me: Yup.

When I lived in Sioux Falls, my favorite name for a convenience store/gas station was Pump 'n' Pack. Yep, I thought they should sell fudge...
you should have said,
"no, it's not for the winter. i needed a place to hide all the stuff I steal from your store."
