Hmmm....what? Oh, sorry. I forgot my blog was still here.

Hey, props to Dinosaur Comics for referencing my home state in today's edition of what might be the funniest comic strip that can only be found on the internet.

I'm back working at Day Job...well, kinda. I'm working for a different department, but it's basically the same type of work. Right now they're doing massive renovations and therefore space is limited. I'm having to play musical desks for the next three weeks or so. Whatever. It's good to be making money again.

It's also good to be riding my bike again. I'm taking the 6 Line in the mornings and then cycling home after work. It's close to an hour bike ride and something around 12 miles, but as long as it's not windy I don't mind. So, of course, on my first ride it was windy as all get up and I came home exhausted. I think it was the first time I've ever felt my body craving carbohydrates. Ahhhh, body fuel!

My long weekend wasn't much to write home about. I went fishing with my dad on Monday morning, which would have been better had I not gotten several tangles. It might also have helped if I had known what I was doing in the first place (this is a hurdle my dad and I have decided we're going to have to jump in order to continue enjoying to fish). Oh well. Otherwise I had Ryan do some work on my bike and I went and saw a so-so show at the 7th Street Entry...and I watched a lot of baseball. All I can say is, how 'bout them Twins?

And Now For the Anecdotal Story That Is Meant to Endear You All to My Brother's Children:
I was at my brother's house for a barbecue on Sunday (oh yeah, I went to my brother's for a barbecue this weekend too) and I was talking to my 6-yr old niece who was climbing on her swingset. The conversation went something like this:
6-Year-Old Niece: Well, here I go...off to the future!....Have you ever been to the future, Uncle Ben?
Me: No, I can't say that I have. Have you?
6YON: Oh yeah, it's great.
Me: Really. What's it like?
(6YON begins going off about how there's cotton candy instead of roses and suckers and lollipops instead of other flowers...and how the bad guys are giant crabs who were frozen once(?))
Me: Wow. That sounds pretty neat.
6YON: Yeah, but then there's the bad future.
Me: Bad future? What's that like?
6YON: Oh, well it's basically New Mexico in the summertime.
Me: Why is it like New Mexico in the summertime?
6YON: Because of all the scorpions and tarantulas.

...I don't understand it either...

That's about it for now.
