Ok, so remember when I wrote that there was a forthcoming blog? Well, this is it...or well, part of it.
I feel like I should write about my grad, since that was probably the most major event to happen to me in the last month. But it's been three weeks since I got back and I don't really know if the blog would be as good as it would be had I just gotten back. I walked away with an Honours degree with distinction, which I think is the highest form of BA you can get at UVic. It was really nice because I got to see pretty much everyone I wanted to (and a few people I didn't expect to see) and all in good, sunny weather.
Since that point, a lot has happened. It's just that, none of it has happened to me. My schedule has been thus: wake up at 7. Be at work at 8.30 (either by Light-Rail or bicycle). Leave work at 4.30. Be at other work at 4.50. Leave other work at 9.15. Come home at 10. Watch baseball related TV until 11. Go to bed. I haven't really had much time for other stuff. Haven't played any music and have been barely social. Tomorrow is my first day off since I got back from Canada. But stuff has been happening to other people.
I met my new nephew on Tuesday night. Aiden Grahame Beresford was born in the wee hours of Monday morning and, like his older siblings, he's a cutie. So that's four kids before either my brother or his wife hit the age of 30. I like watching people's jaws drop whenever I say that.
The Twins have decided to start playing ball. It's about freakin' time. Almost too late. Morneau's hitting. Cuddyer's hitting. Kubel's hitting. Our Latino pitchers are awesome, and we've dumped at least SOME of our dead weight. Here's to hoping Chicago, Detroit, and New York completely collapse over the next five months.
Tomorrow will be the first time I'll be able to watch a complete World Cup game. I've been following them closely on the computer at work up to this point. So far, most of my teams have gone through ok. I'm pretty indifferent to the USA going out. It's nice to have at least ONE African country in the knockout stages. My teams to advance are Germany, Ukraine, Spain, and Argentina. I'd like to put England in that category, but they're playing absolute rubbish right now. I think Sven made the right decision in bringing Owen Hargreaves along, but since day one I've been worried that he made the wrong decision in bringing Theo Walcott (who still hasn't played) and not Jermaine Defoe or Darren Bent. Frankly, I can't see them making it to the semis...but that probably means that they will make it to the semis.
I saw policemen on Sedgeways this week. Now, honestly. If you're gonna ride around in a chariot, the least you can do is put a paper-mache horse on the front of it. I want photos and film clips of hooligans being brought to justice by these two-wheeled mounties....haha, imagine if they replaced the Musical Ride with Sedgeways.

Like Schwartz has said twice this week, it makes you wonder why the Twins decided to spot two months to the AL central instead of putting their best team on the field in 04/.
I've got news for you: the Yankees have imploded. They've only still got a good record because they had a good start. Even the Yankees can't play through the loss of Sheffield and Matsui with that pitching staff.
